I'm Susanna — a certified wellness coach, clinical trial project leader, and the woman who spent nearly two decades inside the research world studying how the body works before I truly understood how to make mine thrive.
I know how to read the research — I've worked alongside physicians and researchers in clinical trials for most of my career. And I also know what it feels like to be in your 40s, exhausted, battling cravings, and wondering why nothing seems to work the way it used to.
What I've built at Thrive Alive Wellness is the bridge between both worlds — evidence-informed coaching grounded in real biology and designed around real life.

— MY STORY
I used to be the woman
my husband called a "hangry monster."
For most of my 30s, bread was basically a food group. Refined carbs were the backbone of my diet, and I didn't think much of it. What I did notice was the hunger that came in relentless waves, the energy crashes that hit like a wall, and the irritability that built between meals until it owned me. My husband had a name for that version of me. I did not find it funny at the time.
What I didn't understand then was that my body was caught in a blood sugar cycle — spike, crash, crave, repeat. I wasn't weak. I wasn't undisciplined. My biology was simply not being supported.
In my early 40s, my family history became impossible to ignore — cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes. I had to decide: keep going the way I was, or change course.
I chose to change course. And I approached it the way I approach everything: with curiosity, research, and a determination to understand root causes rather than chase quick fixes. I rebuilt how I ate, how I moved, and how I thought about my body — not through restriction or extremes, but through understanding what my metabolism actually needed at this stage of life.
The results went far beyond the scale. My blood sugar normalized. My cholesterol improved. I built real muscle and finally released the last of the baby weight — not by pushing harder, but by working with my body instead of against it. I feel stronger and more energized today than I did in my late 30s.
And my goal isn't just to feel good today. It's to age optimally — to stay strong, independent, and healthy for the decades ahead, to be fully present for my kids, and to prevent or delay the chronic diseases that run in my family. That is what drives everything I do in this work.
